Homemade Hike: Brace to Alander to Bash Bish

This hike is definitely a favorite as it takes you over 2 big peaks, Brace Mountain in CT and Alander in MA and 3 states! Ends (or begins depending on which way you do it) at Bash Bish Falls in the Berkshires (MA). You do a good chunk of the South Taconic Trail which is really pretty and has not been crowded both times we did this hike. โคต๏ธ Info below!

  • ๐Ÿš— ๐Ÿš— 2 car hike
  • 8.8 miles ๐Ÿฅพ
  • ~1500 feet of elevation gain ๐Ÿ“ˆ
  • ๐Ÿ’ฆ water sources for dogs
  • โ›ฐ โ›ฐ 2 summits = 2 summit views!
  • ๐Ÿ—บ Link on All Trails
  • ๐Ÿ“ Parking: you will park one car at the Copake Iron Works Historic Site, perfectly fine to leave a car here, lot is filled with hikers.
  • ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿฃ Hunger level a 10 after this hike, ate at The Woodland in Lakeville, CT. Lots of good reviews, has everything from sushi to homemade pasta which sounds weird but it’s all super good!!

When we did this hike we drove to Copake Iron Works, left a car (pack your keys!), and then drove to the start of the hike in CT and went from there. Once done we drove back south to pick up the car in CT and stopped at The Woodland in Lakeville, CT for dinner ๐Ÿ˜ yum! Changed into jeans and a sweater but I’m sure going in hiking clothes is fine, too.

Have you done this hike? Let me know if you go!! ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ
