Cornwall Inn Highlights
We couldn’t have chosen a more wonderful place to stay. The entire area is beautiful this time of year. The inn itself was clean and cozy. The breakfast was wonderful down to the hard boiled eggs that were cooked perfectly….the kind I always wish I could make. The owners, Marc and Stacy were friendly and kind. They even sent back two items I mistakenly left in the room.

If you’re looking for historic New England charm and modern amenities then look no further than The Firefly Inn (formerly the Starbuck Inn).

Located right in downtown Kent where there’s so much to do, this charming Connecticut inn was remodeled top to bottom in 2022.

I was so impressed with the detail and thought that went into everything. The owners clearly treat this inn like they are living there themselves every day which I really appreciate.

The Firefly Inn Highlights
The Inn has been beautifully renovated, and feels fresh and new inside. The furnishings throughout had me taking photos for decorating ideas; the decor is a wonderful blend of comfort, excellent design, and pure fun.

The rest of the Inn has multiple places to sit and read, or have a cup of coffee with friends; the tea room (with snacks, beverages, tea and coffee) has the the happiest wallpaper I’ve ever seen.

6. Interlaken Inn, Lakeville 

Anchored on the shores of Lake Wononscopomuc in Lakeville, Connecticut, the Interlaken Inn is a haven of lakeside lodging.

The inn’s restaurant is quite good, and we had a delightful dinner the first night on the patio. The views from the inn are wonderful, as is the 8-mile drive circling Lake Waramaug. For travelers who don’t need luxury, the Hopkins Inn provides just the right New England Experience.

Disclaimer: Some of the rooms here still need some updating. The Interlaken Inn has 5 different building options. Both the Countryside and Sunnyside buildings have more of a rustic feel & overall not what you would expect for the price.

1754 House Inn & Restaurant is a super charming New England Inn. Their rooms are clean, comfortable, and decorated beautifully! The restaurant is also absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Everything about 1754 House is top notch!

Inn at White Hollow Farm Highlights
We stayed 2 nights. Everything was very clean. Our rooms were very nice in terms of size, furnishings, and bedding. The common area is a full kitchen and small living room. There were 4 bedrooms. Plenty of small items that made it special such as fresh flowers, toiletries. The breakfast was self-serve. There were homemade muffins and croissants plus cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt plus eggs if you wanted to cook. Plenty of juice and bottled water. Trip Advisor September 2019

Winvian Farm Highlights
Winvian was absolutely wonderful! We stayed in the Beaver Lodge December 2023. The cabin is amazing with all of the amenities you need! Service by the staff is fantastic, and the spa was amazing! The food? The food was some of the best I’ve ever eaten! The chef at Winvian is absolutely top notch! Dinner is an experience and did not disappoint! I can definitely see why Winvian was rated #1!
