February and March might be kind of blah as we wait for spring - but maple syrup adds some excitement!
Take a drive and enjoy weekends from mid February to April filled with sugarhouses, backroads, and sweet traditions. Visiting these sugarhouses is a great activity if you're looking for fun things to do in the Berkshires in late winter and there are several spots in central MA as well.
Living next door in Connecticut, visiting sugarhouses has become something I look forward to when you've just about had enough of winter.
I love to hike so I often incorporate a hike in Massachusetts with a nearby maple stop (especially the ones with pancakes 😋) for a fun day out.
This post rounds up 10 maple syrup producers and sugarhouses in Massachusetts, each offering a slightly different take on maple season.
For every stop, I’ve included when they’re typically open, highlights of what makes each one special, and whether or not you can enjoy breakfast while you’re there.
